OUR WEDDING

June 29, 2018

We were married on my aunt and uncle’s farm, Forever Farm & Vineyard, on October 7, 2017. It was a warm fall sunny day in Purcellville, VA as we said our vows surrounded by family and friends. The day could not have been more perfect.

I would describe the vibe of our wedding as “boho industrial hippy chic“. From the beginning of wedding planning I was a DIY bride and very hands on. Some DIY projects included: our wedding centerpieces, handmade boutonnieres and flower crown, to hand-dying napkins and much more.

Photography
Our photographer, Paula Bartosiewicz Photography, was absolutely amazing. If you love the outdoors and are looking for an adventure, Paula and Nik are who you’re looking for. They are a creative husband and wife team based in Frederick, MD (but they love to travel!).

Flowers and Centerpieces
Our flowers and bouquets were sourced from LynnVale Studios,  a flower farm in Gainesville, VA. When I first started looking for florists I knew I wanted to do my centerpieces myself and I wanted colorful wildflowers with gold glass terrariums to line the tables. The afternoon before our wedding we got to work adding the beautiful flowers into bottles. The morning of my wedding my bridesmaids, family and I carried the bottles, flowers and terrariums down to the tent and I organized the tables. I was a DIY bride at it’s finest!

The Dress

Dress shopping was a project for me (and my mom who was more than a good sport – haha!). WE WENT EVERYWHERE. I really wanted something with a boho vibe but I wanted it to be bridal. I loved the brand Daughters of Simone but ultimately decided they weren’t a great fit for my body type. We wound up at Lovely Bride in Philadelphia, PA. and after returning 3 times I finally settled on the dress, Taylor by Watters. The lace was so very different and had the bohemian bridal vibe I was looking for. Since, I was going to be outdoors I decided to go with flats and it was the best decision! I would highly suggest that any outdoor bride wear flats. I found a beautiful bridal flat from BHLDN. You can find them here.

Catering, Day of Coordination and Rentals

I am going to preface this section with, my husband and I went on JUST ONE food tasting and our minds were made up. Our catering and day of coordination team was Bluewater Kitchen. Since we were getting married on a private property we knew we needed a great team to run the show. Not only did head chef, Michael, create a delicious menu the food was locally sourced and “farm to fork”.  His wife and day of coordinator, Christina, not only ran the day perfectly but helped with the planning too!

We rented a lounge area, bar, benches, photo booth backdrop and much more from Bella Villa Antiques & Vintage Rentals. Rosanna has a beautiful collection of rentals I could spend days looking through her showroom.

Husband
The day was perfect because I married the perfect man. He’s my partner in life, my teammate and more than I could have wished for. October 7, 2017 will forever be one of the best days of our life together.
