city of girls summer reading

As a busy working mom it’s hard to find time to fit in reading these days but still finding time to do so is really important to me. Here is my list of easy reads for summer 2019. If you love a book that starts off quick and catches you from the beginning these books are for you. Have you read any of these? Let me know which was your favorite.

City of Girls by Elizabeth Gilbert – I am reading this right now and I dove right into it. An 89 year old women tells her story of living in 1940s NYC.

What Alice Forgot by Laine Moriarty – Anything by Laine Moriarty is my jam so you will see a few of her books on this list. I love the way she writes. I laughed, cried and really felt with this book.

Searching for Sylvia Lee by Jean Kwok – I love a book that is written from different perspectives and this one has three.

Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens – Murder mystery by the beach. And a Reese Witherspoon Hello Sunshine Book Club Pick. Need I say more?

My Lovely Wife by Samantha Downing Thriller about a husband and wife who need to liven up their relationship. They find themselves committing murder to do so. Eek!

The Upside of Falling Down by Rebekah Crane – For Clementine Haas, finding herself is more than a nice idea. Ever since she woke up in an Irish hospital with complete amnesia, self-discovery has become her mission. They tell her she’s the lone survivor of a plane crash. They tell her she’s lucky to be alive. But she doesn’t feel lucky. She feels…lost.

The Husband’s Secret by Laine Moriarty – Another great book by Laine Moriarty. Imagine your significant other wrote you a letter, to be opened after his/her death. Imagine, too, that the letter contains a deepest, darkest secret—something with the potential to destroy not only the life you built together, but the lives of others as well. And then imagine that you stumble across that letter while your significant other is still very much alive…

Becoming by Michelle Obama – A biography by our former First Lady. Whether you support her politics or not you’ll appreciate her story.
